The Myrddin sign on the Myrddin Building

Myrddin raises rates, again

The public-private venture that boasts “Kingly power, common prices,” is raising their service rates once again.

Myrddin, the power venture responsible for unearthing the Sword, recently announced that they will be increasing the prices of monthly service throughout the UK and abroad.

“Usage has gone up steadily since our last rate adjustment in August,” read Myrddin’s Thursday press release. “To accommodate the additional labor costs and regulatory fees, we’re readjusting the rate to meet demand. The average family of four won’t notice a difference.”

But skeptics are asking whether this is just a squeeze on the middle class.

For their part, Digby Sodtiller (OBE), Myrddin’s chief of operations, says that costs for Myrddin rise with the need for new staff, even if The Sword is an infinitely renewable power source.

“You have to understand, these things aren’t free,” Sodtiller said. “Families won’t feel this in their pocketbooks. Only ‘power users.'”
